o Establish the parameters of EMDR’s efficacy and disseminate this information.
o Collect and disseminate knowledge regarding the efficacy of EMDR-related protocols for specific populations or disorders.
o Ensure that external treatment guideline committees are aware of, and have access to relevant EMDR studies.
o Collect and disseminate knowledge about EMDR patient and therapist experiences, preferences, and values, as well as harms and burdens.
o Collect and disseminate knowledge regarding EMDR client and therapist factors that may affect outcome, including treatment fidelity.
o Collect and disseminate information regarding EMDR therapy’s mechanisms of action, and the effectiveness of EMDR’s treatment components.
o Collect and disseminate information regarding the efficacy of procedural modifications in researched EMDR-related protocols.
o Prioritize evidence gaps requiring future research and disseminate this information.
o Create multi-site teams to conduct prioritized research.
o Articulate different ideas/plans/concepts for the development of EMDR research over the next decade (or more).
